Driving Downtown

A Family Business 14 Miles From the Harbor

Our story began in Owings Mills in 2006, the year Morgana Bonilla, a Brazilian entrepreneur, set up the company that still carries her name, and her family runs it today. Crews now drive about 14 miles southeast to reach Baltimore, which sits alongside six Maryland counties among our 25 service communities.

Baltimore stands apart from every county, an independent city since 1851, yet our routes into it cross familiar ground. Catonsville, Woodlawn, Pikesville and Towson, which we also serve, border the city line, so residential maid service and commercial cleaning appointments inside the Beltway are booked the same way as in those suburbs. Recurring visits can be weekly, every other week or monthly, on the day that suits you.

On cleaning day, a uniformed, professionally trained team hauls vacuums, mops and its own professional-grade products up your front steps. Stay home if you like, or hand over a house key or keypad code and head to work. The crew follows the list settled during your estimate, and pictures of the tidy rooms can land on your phone afterward.

You can verify us before you call. We are Google Guaranteed, carry more than 120 Google reviews, and BusinessRate handed us its Best of title for house cleaning in our hometown in 2024 and 2025. A client wrote that our crew deep cleaned the Edgar Allan Poe House and Carroll Mansion, and we partner with Cleaning for a Reason so people in cancer treatment can get free cleans.

Brick Rowhouses, Harbor Condos and Downtown Offices

Block after block of brick and formstone rowhouses define much of Baltimore, alongside condos and rentals near the Inner Harbor and detached homes in northern neighborhoods such as Roland Park, Guilford and Homeland. Because a rowhouse spreads its rooms over several floors joined by one narrow stair, we usually begin with a deep clean reaching every level, then settle into recurring house cleaning once the whole home is caught up.

Workplaces are part of the picture too. Downtown offices, studios and small practices book commercial cleaning or janitorial plans, while renters near the harbor book move-out cleaning as their lease winds down. Older buildings are familiar territory: a client wrote that our team deep cleaned two city museums, the Edgar Allan Poe House and the Carroll Mansion, where original woodwork and floors called for patient hand work.

FAQ

Baltimore Maid Service Questions and Answers

Do you deep clean multi-story rowhouses in Baltimore?

Yes. A Baltimore rowhouse gets the same checklist as any home, with extra time planned for steep stairs, banisters and each separate floor. Starting with a deep clean lets the crew reach every level once; after that, lighter recurring visits keep it in shape on a schedule you pick.

Is Morgan’s also a commercial cleaning company for Baltimore workplaces?

Yes. Alongside house cleaning, we provide commercial cleaning for Baltimore offices, studios and small practices, booked as office cleaning or janitorial services and scheduled daily, weekly or monthly. A walkthrough estimate comes first, and requesting it costs you nothing.

What does it cost to get a Baltimore quote, and is there a contract?

Nothing, and there is none. Quotes are free and reflect the size of your rowhouse or apartment, its condition and the service chosen. Ask through our online form, by email or by text; recurring visits can pause or end whenever you like, since nothing ties you to a term.

How far do your cleaners travel to reach Baltimore?

About 14 miles. Our crews leave Owings Mills and head southeast toward the harbor, which puts the whole city comfortably inside our roughly 40-mile service area. That short drive makes weekly or bi-weekly maid service practical, along with one-time deep cleans and move-outs.

Which cleaning services suit Baltimore homes and offices?

Three stand out. Deep cleaning fits rowhouses because it reaches every floor top to bottom; move-out cleaning helps renters hand back city apartments at lease end; and office cleaning gives downtown businesses commercial-grade upkeep without in-house staff. After that first visit, recurring maid service holds the line.

Can you turn over a Fells Point or Inner Harbor short-term rental between guests?

Yes. Vacation rental turnovers reset bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms between stays, so a Baltimore unit is ready for whoever checks in next. Hosts can give us a keypad combination, and snapshots of the made-up rooms can follow once the turnover wraps.

Does Morgan’s provide maid service inside Baltimore city limits?

Yes. Morgan’s Cleaning provides maid service and house cleaning across Baltimore, sending trained crews about 14 miles southeast from our Owings Mills office. The city counted 585,708 residents at the 2020 census and has been an independent city, outside any county, since the Maryland Constitution of 1851 (source). All 11 services we offer work here, from recurring housekeeping and deep cleans to move-in and move-out jobs, single visits, Airbnb turnovers, post-construction cleanup, organizing, garage cleanouts, office cleaning and janitorial contracts. The strongest fits in the city are rowhouse deep cleans, lease-end move-outs for apartments and commercial cleaning for downtown workplaces. Neighboring Catonsville and Woodlawn are about 7 miles away, and Elkridge about 8. Booking works through our online quote request, an email sent to info@morganscleaningmd.com or our text line, (240) 498-8827; describe your floors, rooms and the cleaning you need.

How does booking a Baltimore cleaning work?

Booking runs in four plain steps, and you decide at each one whether to continue.

  1. Share your neighborhood, how many floors and bedrooms you have, and whether you need ongoing maid service, a top-to-bottom deep clean or move-out help.
  2. We price the work by size, condition and service; the quote is free, carries no obligation and leaves you time to decide.
  3. Choose a start date. Recurring clients keep a standing weekly, bi-weekly or monthly slot on our route into Baltimore.
  4. Uniformed cleaners arrive carrying their own equipment, follow the agreed checklist and let you know when your home is finished.

How many hours does a Baltimore rowhouse clean take?

A standard-size home’s opening deep clean fills roughly four to eight hours, and a Baltimore rowhouse with three floors and a finished basement lands toward the longer end, since every stair and landing is detailed. A studio near the harbor needs far less. Later recurring visits are noticeably quicker.

Can the crew clean while I am out at work?

Yes. You can be away for the whole Baltimore visit: hand over a house key, give us a lockbox combination or text the keypad digits, and the crew lets itself in. When the work wraps up, we can text a few images of the clean kitchen and bathrooms before your evening commute.

Which Baltimore neighborhoods are on your route?

All of them. Our crews work downtown and around the Inner Harbor, in Federal Hill, Locust Point, Fells Point, Canton and Highlandtown to the south and east, in Mount Vernon and Charles Village closer to the center, and north through Hampden, Roland Park, Guilford, Homeland and Mount Washington. Rowhouses, condos, apartments and detached houses are all welcome.

Which suburbs next to Baltimore do you also serve?

Just beyond the city line, we clean in Catonsville and Woodlawn, each about 7 miles away in Baltimore County, and in Elkridge, roughly 8 miles off in Howard County. Our service areas page lists all 25 communities.

What will maid service cost for my Baltimore home?

Recurring maid service in the city starts at $180, and a deep clean is priced from $200. Where your total lands depends on how big the home is, what condition it is in and which service you choose; a three-floor rowhouse deep clean needs more hours than upkeep for a one-bedroom apartment. Quotes are free, and booking afterward is entirely up to you.

How do I vet a cleaning company before letting it into my Baltimore home?

Check five things before you hire anyone: the company carries insurance and a bond, its Google reviews are real, the estimate is free, you can cancel without a contract, and missed spots get fixed. Morgan’s meets each one, backed by more than 120 reviews on Google, Google Guaranteed status and a satisfaction promise you can use by call or text.

Does your Baltimore crew bring its own cleaning supplies?

Yes. Vacuums, mops and professional-grade cleaning products come with every crew, so you never have to stock anything or haul gear up rowhouse stairs. Prefer a particular product for a certain surface? Tell us at the estimate and we will note it on your checklist.

Which tasks are part of a standard Baltimore maid service visit?

The routine targets the rooms people use most: kitchen counters, the sink and appliance surfaces, every part of the bathroom, dusting in bedrooms and living spaces, plus vacuuming and mopping on each level. Deep cleaning adds dusted baseboards, crown moldings, switch plates and bathroom exhaust fans, and refrigerator or oven interiors are optional extras.

How did Baltimore grow from a tobacco port into an independent city?

Step by step around the harbor. Maryland’s colonial assembly created a port at Whetstone Point, today’s Locust Point, in 1706, and the town itself followed in 1729 on the north side of the Patapsco River. The town merged with Jonestown and Fells Point in 1796–1797 and left Baltimore County’s jurisdiction in 1851 (source). Each era left its own housing behind:

YearMilestoneWhat it means for homes today
1706Port established at Whetstone Point for the tobacco tradeWaterfront blocks with some of the oldest homes, worth gentle hand detailing
1729Town founded west of the Jones FallsHistoric streets where stairs, trim and old floors need patient work
1797The town, Jonestown and Fells Point incorporated as one cityEarly rowhouse neighborhoods that suit a floor-by-floor deep clean
1851Becomes an independent city under the Maryland ConstitutionA city of its own, with every neighborhood on our route
1904The Great Fire destroys more than 1,500 buildings downtownA rebuilt downtown of offices that benefit from regular commercial cleaning
1980Harborplace opens as Inner Harbor redevelopment gathers paceHarbor condos and apartments that change hands and need move-out cleans

Dates and history: Baltimore on Wikipedia.

Why are there so many rowhouses in Baltimore?

Because builders have been putting them up for more than two centuries. Developers began laying out whole rowhouse neighborhoods in the mid-1790s, and early in the 19th century the rowhouse became the dominant house type. Today tens of thousands of them line the city’s grid, faced in brick or in formstone, a coating Albert Knight patented in 1937 (source). Tall, narrow layouts are exactly why a rowhouse deep cleaning works its way down every flight of stairs.

How many historic buildings does the city have?

More than any other American city. Nearly a third of its buildings, over 65,000, are listed as historic on the National Register, spread across 66 National Register districts and 33 local ones; Fell’s Point, Federal Hill and Mount Vernon were among the earliest such districts in the nation (source). Older plaster, woodwork and floors call for a careful hand, and renovations in these districts leave fine dust that our post-construction cleaning clears before you move back in.

Who are the people cleaning my Baltimore home?

Founder and owner Morgana Bonilla started Morgan’s Cleaning in 2006; manager Alexia Wellen leads the team day to day. Each cleaner is carefully selected, professionally trained and arrives in uniform. Reviewers on Google have thanked Morgana, Alexia, Michelli and Andrezia personally, and that group stands behind the crews climbing your rowhouse stairs in the city. See our Google reviews.
